Social Sheffield Food Editor, Tania Tailor picks her Top Three “Eat Social” Recommendations for those eating out in Sheffield, 17 – 23 Aug. 2015.

1. – Pizza @ The Florentine

Everyone loves pizza, but some pizza stands head and shoulders above the rest. Such is the pizza at The Florentine. The base is thin and crispy and made with sourdough and their toppings are creative and original, but also “just what you need!”. My favourite is topped with Parma ham, sun-dried tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and caramelised pineapple. (I know it sounds unusual but trust me, it works!). The pub itself is also a great place to enjoy your pizza. It’s smart but laid back, and their beer garden is the perfect open space to enjoy a few post-work drinks offers.

2. – Flatbreads @ Graze Inn

Graze Inn occupies a prime position on Ecclesall Road. The restaurant transitions well from “casual lunch spot” to “a more upmarket dinner and drinks venue”. The food is a mix of different styles, including rotisserie chicken, seafood linguine, and my favourite: flatbreads. The thinly sliced steak, caramelised onion, blue cheese and rocket flatbread are a cracking combination of flavours and will impress even the fussiest of eaters.

3. – Everything (but particularly the Asian food!) @ Cosmo

Cosmo takes all-you-can-eat to a whole new level with its around-the-world-in-80-minutes buffet. Cosmo markets itself as a pan-global restaurant, and true to their word, the food spans Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Mexican, British carvery, American BBQ and more. However the best quality food is definitely in the Asian sections – try the vegetarian Pad Thai, steamed dim sum, and fresh to order teppanyaki scallops. At £14 on a weeknight and £15 at the weekend, Cosmo is a reasonable and more credible alternative to old school buffet.
