1. – Sobriquet // Mon. 27 Feb. // West Street Live – – (£0)

Shake off those Monday blues by seeing a band straight out of the University of Sheffield. Sobriquet have been described as ‘Norma Jean meets My Chemical Romance’. While they only have a few singles out, their output gives a clear indication of what is to come, that is to say, dynamic and tireless music with post-hardcore inspiration. Their live performances are no different, overflowing with energy and sound. Get down to West Street Live for a gig you’re unlikely to forget in a while.

2. – VANT // Thurs. 2 March // Plug – – (£11)

If you’re on the hunt for a band capable of pulling together addictive tracks with politically-charged messages, then VANT is the one for you. The London based indie rock quartet make passionate music with well crafted guitar riffs and often thought-provoking lyrics. Their debut album was released only a few weeks ago, meaning this performance is likely to be fresh and spirited. They’re playing Plug and it’s sure to be a big one.

3. – The Sherlocks // Fri. 3 March // Sheffield University – – (£6)

The Sherlocks are one of South Yorkshire’s very own, and have been slowly building up their name for a few years now. Having been signed to Infectious Music in the last few weeks of 2016, they’re now raring to go and take the indie rock world by storm. While they’re still yet to release an album, their singles have been infectious and high energy-perfect for a live environment. Their gig at Sheffield Student’s Union is just the ticket for an end of week sing-a-long.
