1. – The Magic Gang // Mon. 1 May. // The Leadmill – – (£10)

If you’re looking for a feel good gig to end up your bank holiday weekend in style, look no further than The Magic Gang. The Brighton four-piece are relatively new to the scene, and have yet to release an album. However, their handful of EPs are full of sun soaked and infectious tracks. With a nostalgic and laid-back surfer sound, these guys are making waves and have already supported fan favorites Wolf Alice and Swim Deep. The Magic Gang are clearly destined for big things.

2. – Hot 8 Brass Band // Tues. 2 May // 02 Academy – – (£19.50)

Hot 8 Brass Band will change the way that you view brass music. Based in New Orleans, this group are making tracks with a blend of many genres, from hip-hop to jazz to funk, all with the distinct brass undertone. Having been formed in 1996, the group’s lineup has changed, but the four founding members have remained ensuring the sound of the band is consistent and high quality. This is sure to be an energetic, high octane show full of tracks that will get you dancing, including some covers of well known tracks. Well worth buying a ticket!

3. – Seafret // Thurs. 4 May // The Leadmill – – (£10)

Seafret was formed after the duo met while both performing at an open mic night and decided to start making music together. Their debut album ‘Tell Me It’s Real’ was released in early 2016, but they are likely to have some fresh material for their tour. The pair have managed to find the perfect blend of emotional and upbeat, and each track has a certain kind of magic. This gig will be the perfect way to spend a relaxing evening.
