1. – Neon Waltz // Sat. 26th Aug. // Record Junkee – – (£7)
Hypnotic Scottish six-piece Neon Waltz will be bringing their sixties sound to Record Junkee this Saturday. Find out why Noel Gallagher loves them and you might just fall in love with them too. Their debut album ‘Strange Hymns’ was released last Friday on Ignition Records, the same label that is home to Primal Scream, Noel Gallagher and fellow psychedelic outfit The Coral. Fun Fact: Neon Waltz hail from a picturesque town called Thurso just off the North Sea in the middle of nowhere and has a population of just over 7,000. It’s beautiful scenery can be viewed in their videos and is reflected in their music.

2. – Caroline Francess // Sat. 26th Aug. // Plug – – (£5)
Caroline Francess is launching her brand spanking new EP ‘Temper Temper’ this Saturday night at Plug. The Sheffield singer and pianist is backed by a talented ensemble and is eerily reminiscent of London Grammar. She showcases immense technical vocal ability and likes to play around with this throughout her songs, which makes her performances quite captivating. Support comes from local jazz singer Sofia Vago and singer-songwriter Chelsea Alice Scott. It’s sure to be a fun evening celebrating an exciting moment for one of Sheffield’s most talented unsigned artists.

3. – TAAE – Rare Synergy Lan Gathering 2017 // Sun. 27th Aug. // Picture House Social – – (£17.50)
Sheffield collective The Audacious Arts Experiment (TAEE) are putting on a 12-hour bank holiday bonanza this Sunday at the brilliant Picture House Social. The event kicks off at 3pm and the DIY collective have curated a line-up with whole host of thrilling acts from around the country including London’s Ewa Justka, Leeds’ Galaxians and Manchester’s very own DUDS. TAAE promise to take you on a ‘fibre optic journey of noise, pop, loud, bounce, indie, techno, quiet, odd, weird and shuffle’. If this sounds like your cup of tea, then head down and spend your bank holiday getting wooed by some of Britain’s finest leftfield artists.
